Occupational Medicine – Repetitive Use Injuries
Musculoskeletal Disorders or MSDs are injuries and disorders that affect the human body’s movement or musculoskeletal system (i.e. muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, discs, blood vessels, etc.) A variety of risk factors are involved in the development of musculoskeletal disorders. Always pay attention to your body and know when an ache and a pain could be related to MSD. They gradually worsen over time with the same symptoms reoccurring. Be mindful if the pain is triggered by a specific task, motion, or repetition performed. Don’t wait until the pain or ache is so bad that you cannot perform your daily routine or work duties and be sure to report it to your supervisor immediately.
